This is an Italian Art Nouveau period advertising poster and calendar for Ditta Nebiolo & Comp., created by Cotti in 1904. Ditta Nebiolo & Comp. - Enterprises Nebiolo - was one of the most important Italian foundries of typefaces and typography, and was located in Turin. This poster exemplifies the detailed Italian Art Nouveau style - and its deeply unique typography - that exploded in popularity at the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Turin in 1902. It features intricately detailed design that is complimented by many different sizes and types of typography. The center of the poster shows four beautiful and elegantly women - figures reminiscent of the women and designs of Alphonse Mucha - each separated by a column. Above them is text pertaining to the company being advertised, and below is a calendar for the year 1904. Each area of the poster is framed in intricately detailed borders creating a wonderful example of an Italian Art Nouveau style poster with strong French influences.
This original advertising poster and calendar was printed by Ditta Nebiolo & Comp., e con Inchiostri della Casa Ch. Lorilleux & Cia di Milano, 1904.
