This is a French Belle Epoque period advertising poster for A La Place Clichy by Eugene Grasset from 1891. This stunning image shows a man in conversation with a rug dealer, both wearing intricately detailed clothes, standing over beautiful, deeply colored oriental carpets. A camel stands in the background with bold large white letters at the top.
This is the most rare and unique version of this poster: it is the first original printing and is extremely hard to find. It was printed by Affiche Artistiques and published by Malherbe & Bellot, 1891. The image begins one and a half inches from the bottom, and one inch from the top and sides.
