This is a rare American advertising poster for the novel, “Man from Glengarry” by Ralph Connor. This poster features a Japanese woodblock inspired image of a man paddling down a river, with the outline of a pine forest behind him. The majority of the poster contains bold typography that provides information on the book which it advertises. The orange, brown, and white color scheme creates a bold and unique image from the turn of the century in America.
Ralph Connor, also known as Rev. Dr. Charles William Gordon, was a Canadian novelist and church leader. He was born in Glengarry County in Ontario, and used the pen name Ralph Connor. Although Connor is now a relatively obscure author, within his lifetime he sold more than 5 million copies of his written work.
