American Vintage Travel Poster for National Airlines to the Bahamas, 1960s

SOLD

Out of stock

Pictured is a gorgeous red-orange sky bleeding into a seaside scene in the Bahamas.  Notice the boaters riding peacefully into the distance on their small sailboat.  The palm trees stand tall and mighty, drifting in the wind.

National Airlines was a Florida based airline founded in 1934.

On Nov 10th, 1958, it was the first to introduce Jet service in the US between Miami and Idlewild (modern day JFK).

In 1964, it was exclusively a Jet-powered service, and in 1970, it offered Transcontinental service.

In 1980, it merged with PanAm.  The logo was a face in the sun, and can be seen above the ‘a’ in this poster.
