French Art Deco Sparkling Wine Vintage Poster ‘Fiorino Asti Spumante’ by Jean d’Ylen, 1922
SOLD
Out of stock
A green & yellow Eighteenth Century jester tickling the chin of a Fiorino bottle of the smiling beverage – sparkling wine (Asti Spumante) on a black background.
In this advertisement, the bottle almost looks like a human; notice the friendly face at the top of the bottle, and the bubbly foam representing his Eighteenth Century style hair!
The Fiorino title is in bright yellow, with the ‘Asti Spumante’ in tomato-red, sharply contrasting the background. On the bottom margin you’ll notice the official importer of this specific sparkling wine to France, Marcellin, Fiorio, & Lezignan.
Jean D’ylen, under contract with Vercasson, continued the style of Cappiello, whom he admired.
