This is a French Belle Époque period travel poster from the 1890s for Nantua. It is a stunning and magnificently detailed travel poster featuring the scenic water, colors, and mountains of Nantua, and it perfectly captures the feeling of a late afternoon at the lake. There are three scenes captured in this poster: the largest, as described above, as well as a smaller scene of Col de la Faucille, and the smallest scene of the Brou Royal Monastery. Surrounding the two smaller scenes are beautifully realistic pink and purple irises. This poster was designed by Hugo D’alesi and exquisitely demonstrates the naturally influenced, beautifully colored scenes of the French Belle Époque period travel posters.
This original lithographic travel advertisement was created and printed by Hugo D’alesi in the 1890s for P.L.M.
