French Men’s Fashion Poster for ‘Raymond | Tarbes’, 1900s
This is a French Art Nouveau period advertising poster, and calendar for Raymond Tailors in the region of Tarbes, France. This is a beautifully crafted poster that features a central image of an elegantly dressed gentleman being measured by a tailor. Surrounding the central image is a quintessentially Art Nouveau period border of waving lines, flowers, and exquisite typography. At the bottom of the poster there is a white space in the center where a yearly calendar would have been placed; on either side are small boxes with information pertaining to the tailor and their location in Tarbes. The gentle, flowing composition of this piece, combined with its warm yet bold colors, is a great example of an art nouveau period poster.
Printed in France by Tab x Wetterwald Treres Bordeaux, 1900s.
