This is a Mid-Century Modern period advertising poster for the maritime company Chargeurs Reunis by Brenet in the 1950s. This lively and colorful scene shows a group of stylishly dressed ladies walking across a street in front of a city scene of beautiful buildings, an outdoor cafe (Cafe de la Paix), and people milling about. One of the women in the front has a leashed French Poodle.
You also can’t miss Opera Garnier, the most famous opera house in France.
In the bottom left corner of the poster it reads, “Compagnie maritime des Chargeurs Reunis.” In the top right corner of the poster, in a periwinkle-colored, fluid sketch-like handwriting it reads, “Vers la France,” meaning, “To France.”
This poster was printed in France, 1950s.
