This French exhibition poster was printed in 1973, and it is from a series called “Prophets” by Reuven Rubin. At the top of the piece, in bold, blunt typography, the poster reads: “The Prophets, By Rubin.” The poster’s central image is a fiery explosion of color, dominated by reds, oranges, and yellows in the center, with cooler blues and greens around the edges. Inside this eye catching patch of color is a chariot being pulled by two horses – perhaps flying – and a hunched over figure. This magnificently Expressionist piece is reminiscent of the violent power of the Old Testament.
The poster was printed in France by Mourlot, 1973.
