French Vintage Railway Poster for Chemin de Fer de L’Est (East) to Vittel Vosges by d’Alesi, 1890s

$2,500.00

This is a French Belle Epoque period travel poster from the 1890’s for Vittel. It is a stunning and magnificently detailed travel poster featuring a scenic view that captures the lush flowers and trees of Vittel, and perfectly captures the feeling of sitting outside on a late afternoon in this resort town. This poster was designed by Hugo D’alesi and it is a wonderful example of the naturally influenced, beautifully colored scenes of the French Belle Epoque period travel scene posters. D’alesi created this poster for Chemins de Fer de L’Est., Eastern Railway; at the bottom of the poster there is text reading, ” Casino – Theatre – Horse Races. Five and a half hours from Paris. Fast Trains. 5 hours and half from Paris.” In the front of the poster, a girl is holding a hula hoop & petting a beautiful wolfhound (dog).
