This is an American Mid-Century Modern period advertising poster for the S.S. United States. This is a exquisitely crafted travel poster featuring a beautiful and lifelike representation of the ocean liner at sea in the center of the poster. On the top third of the poster are alternating red and white lines, within which is block blue lettering, “S.S. United States,” and on the second line, “World’s Fastest and Most Modern Liner.” On the bottom third of the poster are alternating blue and white lines with bold red typography, “To and From All Europe,” and on the line below, “United States Lines.” This patriotically inspired color scheme perfectly completes this Mid-Century Modern period travel poster.
