“XXIIme Fete federale de chant Neuchatel 1912
12-16 & 19-23 of Juliet.”
22nd National Festival of Singing in Neuchatel, 1912.
July 12th-16th & July 19th-23rd.
National Singing Festival in Neuchatel. Pictured is a swan gracefully swimming with a lyre on its back. This is symbolic of the the constellation of Cygnus which includes both a Lyre and a Swan.
Neuchatel is known for its musical appetite (as well as its watchmaking, but that’s for another poster).
Neuchatel is the capital of the ‘Republic of Canton of Neuchatel’. It’s a French speaking region of Western-Switzerland. The roots of the town of Neuchatel goes all the way back to 1012.
